  1. Your mortgage agreement, a legal document, sets the due date and terms of repayment. If the lender waives any part of that agreement it would be null and void. You would not be happy if the lender decided to increase the late fees or interest rate.
  2. Because, if you don't pay on time you get a late fee. The bank isn't going to waive this...they want your money. Besides, you signed the agreement so don't think you don't have to hold up your end of the bargain, but the bank should!
  3. I am not sure why they would do that. You control the late fees, not them. You are the one who decides when you will be mailing that check. Mail it on time.
  4. BECAUSE you made promises and signed an agreement, and you owe interest and late fees. And this means you are not 3 days late but 18 days late with most loans, due on 1rst, late after 15th. You are asking a LOT of them. If you're having trouble paying on time, you need to change other things, because you are legally bound on these dates. Maybe paying twice a month would help you, if you're not properly budgeting, but not LATE.
  5. they already give you 15 days extra grace period - they have to stop at some point
